The ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency (FAccT) is a multi-disciplinary gathering that brings together computer scientists, statisticians, social scientists, and legal scholars to address ethical challenges in computing systems. The conference explores issues like algorithmic transparency, fairness in machine learning, bias, and responsible technology development from diverse perspectives.
Diversa joined the 2024 FAccT Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, participating alongside colleagues from the global feminist artificial intelligence network. We exchanged ideas on creating more responsible AI systems and had the opportunity to share our projects. The discussions centered on how Latin American perspectives can contribute to developing more critical, human-centered AI solutions that reflect our region's unique context and needs. These conversations reinforced our commitment to building technological systems that prioritize ethical considerations and diverse voices.
