Science Summit AT UNITED NATIONS General Assembly
RESPONSIBLE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN URBAN CONTEXT
In September 2024, we participated in a panel at the United Nations General Assembly Science Summit (UNGA 79) focused on the responsible application of AI. The panel, organized by Ivadoo at the University of Montreal, brought together experts such as the Prime Minister of Morocco, Aawatif Hayar, Carl Morch from the Fari Institute in Brussels, Diana Mosquera from Diversa, and Catherine Regis from the University of Montreal. Our intervention focused on how AI can help improve the understanding and governance of natural resources, and explored its potential applications to address migration challenges and foster inclusive urban development.
The conversation highlighted the importance of considering diverse perspectives when implementing AI solutions in cities. This meeting provided valuable insights on integrating ethical considerations into technological advances for urban environments, highlighting collaborative approaches across different sectors. Thanks to Antoine Congost for organizing this meaningful exchange of ideas.
